JO CARR
My names Jordyn, but all my friends call me Jo. I was born and raised in Utah, specifically the small town Avon, UT. I’ve loved creating ever since I can remember. I was gifted my very first easel when I was 7 and still have the first painting I ever did. Thankfully there has been some improvement in my art skills since then. Although I’ve always been passionate about art, I was never
confident enough in myself to believe I could pursue it professionally so I did the whole traditional college thing. I went to the University of Utah for Criminology and Social Work. After months and months of extensive burnout in that industry and coming to the conclusion that was no longer my path, my handsome husband convinced me to take the leap and learn how to tattoo. I am so grateful for his mentorship and guidance. Without him I would have never known how much I could grow and discover about myself through art and creating. Tattooing has helped me grow as a person more than I ever could have imagined and within it I found my spark. I’m so grateful for this craft and to be able to create meaningful experiences through art with others. The energy transfer of tattooing is something I am so honored to be apart of.
I’m over a year into my apprenticeship and I’m really enjoying black and grey realism. I love tattooing animal portraits, flowers, bugs, surrealism concepts, bones, and chrome. Although I prefer black and grey realism I’m still discovering my style, I love to challenge myself and I’m open to many other ideas for projects.
Outside of the studio I practice energy kinesiology, spend time with my love and our fur babies, read fantasy books, draw dark cute fictional creatures, hike, and go to the gym.
I appreciate all the support throughout my learning journey and can’t wait to create meaningful experiences with my clients. Thanks for being here and I can’t wait to meet you!
